Bu makale Klasik dönem Arap Edebiyatı’nın önde gelen isimlerinden biri olan Ebu’l-Alâ el-Ma’arrî’nin el-Lüzûmiyyât’ı ile Romantik dönem İngiliz Edebiyatı dendiği zaman akla gelen ilk şairlerinden William Blake’in Masumiyet ve Tecrübe Şarkıları kitabındaki şiirlerde geçen pesimizm örneklerini mukayesesini ihtiva etmekte olup birbirinden tamamen farklı tarih, kültür ve coğrafyada yaşamış iki mühim edebi şahsiyetin eserlerinin bir kavram üzerinden benzerliklerini ve farklılıklarını incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Hem Ebu’l-Alâ el-Ma’arrî hem de William Blake doğuştan gelen estetik hünerlerinin yanı sıra yaşadığı zaman ve mekânın özelliklerini de şiir dünyalarına yansıttığı bilinmektedir. Ebu’l-Alâ el-Ma’arrî toplumsal sorunların had safhada olduğu bir tarihi süreçte siyasî, iktisadî, içtimaî eleştirilerle dolu pek çok şiir örnekleri ile karşımıza çıkarken diğer taraftan İngiliz şair William Blake modern dünyanın filizlenip vücut bulduğu, rasyonalitenin ve maddiyatın yegâne ölçü olduğu bir coğrafyada mistik ve romantik olana temayül edip şiirlerinde mevzu bahis toplumsal süreci kıyasıya eleştirdiği görülmektedir. Farklı zaman, farklı mekân ve farklı kültürlerden gelen bu iki sanatçının eserlerine bakıldığında aynı ruh halinin tezahürü olabilecek şiirler söylediği tespit edilmiştir. Hem Ebu’l-Alâ el-Ma’arrî hem de William Blake’in şiirlerine pesimizm kavramı üzerinden yapılan karşılaştırmalı edebiyat alanındaki bu inceleme diğer bir taraftan da asırlar önceki tarihi Britanya adası ile kadim Diyâr-ı Şam coğrafyalarını farklı disiplinler aracılığı vasıtası ile bir okuma olacaktır.
This article is about Innocence and Experience by el-Ma’arrî’s al-Lüzûmiyyât, one of the leading names in Classical Arabic Literature, and Blake, one of the first poets that come to mind when Romantic Period English Literature is mentioned. His songs contain a comparison of the examples of pessimism in the poems in his book, and it aims to examine the similarities and differences of the works of two important literary figures, who lived in completely different history, culture and geography, through a concept. It is known that both poetry reflect their innate aesthetic skills as well as the characteristics of the time and place they live in to their worlds of poetry. While el-Ma’arrî comes across with many poetry examples full of political, economic and social criticism in a historical process; on the other hand Blake, is the only place where rationality and materiality sprout and come into being in the modern world. It is seen that he leans towards the mystical and romantic in a geography where he is the measure and criticizes the social process in question in his poems. When the works of these two artists, who came from different times, different places and different cultures, were examined, it was determined that they sang poems that could be the manifestation of the same mood. This comparative literature review, based on the concept of pessimism, on the poems of both el-Ma’arri and Blake, on the other hand, interdisciplinary analyzes the historical British and Damascus.
