The aim of this study is to study the differentiation of work stress according to socio-demographic variables. The universe of the research is formed by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Human Resources Department, Corporate Development and Management Systems Department, Culture Assets Department Department staff (officer, contractual, worker) with 206 employees. The easy-to-access sample method has been selected for the work group. The data was collected through the survey method. The data collected from 206 participants were analyzed through identification statistics, correlation and differentiation tests in the SPSS 21 program. Because the data showed normal distribution, parametric tests were used in all analyses. As a result of the analysis, the differentiation in work stress points from the socio-demographic variables discussed in the research has only been statistically meaningful in terms of gender variables. Women’s work stress score is significantly higher than men’s score. Based on this finding, it can be said that gender is an element that differentiates work stress.
