Abstract:

This study aims to provide the student with the example event method of ten root values included in the life knowledge course. The research was carried out with second-class students of a private primary school in the 2018-2019 educational year. The research was used as an action research project. The data is obtained by observations, student studies, student/learer logs, focus group conversations, student pre- and final perceptions, video recordings. The data is analyzed and interpreted through content analysis. The study found that students could identify the values emphasized in the example event when they encounter in their daily lives, comment on the problem situations through values, take advantage of values in decision-making processes and use them in their verbal expressions. It is believed that the positive contribution of the values included in the curriculum will be planned and programmed into the educational processes.
