Abstract:

Airline transport sector is one of the areas with high labour turnover rate due to being a labour-intensive sector and employee expenses constitute an important cost item for this sector. Placing the right employee for the right job is a very important process for organisations. For this reason, it is important to carry out the recruitment process in airline organisations in a meticulous manner and to determine the importance levels of the factors and sub-factors that are effective in employee selection. The aim of the study is to determine the importance levels of the criteria that should be taken into consideration in the selection of employees in airline organisations. In the research, the relationship between the criteria that are effective in the selection of personnel in the aviation sector in general is evaluated and the grading of the criteria is revealed. FUCOM (Full Consistency Method), one of the multi-criteria decisions making (MCDM) methods, is used in the analysis of the research data. This method is one of the subjective weighting methods used in determining the criteria weights. Analyses are made by taking into account the process steps used in the method and as a result of the analyses, the main criteria that are effective in personnel selection are determined as technical competence (K1) with 59%, social competence (K3) with 16%, reference competence (K4) with 14% and physical competence (K2) with 11% from the most important criterion to the least important criterion.
