Abstract:

Education is extremely important for the development of individuals and communities. The professional and technical training of the staff to be employed in the tourism sector, which is a work-intense sector, must also be planned and implemented according to the needs of the sector and age. The aim of this study is to identify innovative practices applied in tourism education and to reveal the impact of these practices on education and teaching. The study was prepared using secondary data in the image scan model based on the quality research method. Previously in tourism education, 31 work related to innovation has been interpreted by examining in terms of objectives, scope, methods and results. The findings of the research have shown that innovative applications developed in the field of tourism education have a positive impact on the method, material, technological applications, personal development activities on the learning skills of students. These innovative practices have been shown to be very important for both students and educators, as well as for the development and satisfaction of the institution. Innovative practices have been shown to increase students’ individual and organizational level of innovation, mindfulness, empathy, entrepreneurial tendency, analytical thinking skills, and the ability to solve complex problems. It has also been shown that learning in a digital environment provides students with flexible learning opportunities, is more attractive, facilitates learning, increases class participation, reduces continuity and increases student success. It is important to enhance these innovative methods and to conduct research in which the relationship between different innovative applications and students' learning levels is studied in subsequent studies. Finally, it has been presented recommendations that offer practical solutions to guide and motivate academics about how to better understand the change in tourism education, how to integrate innovative practices.
