Abstract:

This study aims to study the impact of Big Math for Little Kids on the math skills of children aged 36-48 months. The study was attended by children aged 36-48 months in two different pre-school institutions related to national education in the province of Konya. In the study, 15 were assigned to a test group and 15 were assigned to a control group with 30 children. The independent variable of this study is the mathematical education program called Big Math for Little Kids (Big Math for Little Kids) given to children who are 36-48 months of pre-school education. The dependent variable is mathematical skills. The research has been designed to show whether an independent variable affects the dependent variable. This study has been studied with the uneven control group model of semi-experimental models. Theme 3 is the mathematical skill test. Form A for the pre-test, form B for the estest and form A for the monitoring test. At the beginning of the study, the Theme 3-A Mathematical Skills Test was applied as an advance to both the control group and the experiment group. After the 16 weeks of training given to the children who form the experimental group, the TEMA 3-B Mathematical Skills Test was applied to both the experimental and control group. The TEMA 3-A Mathematical Talent Test was applied to children who formed the experiment group a month after the estest application. The results were analyzed by Mann-Whitney U and Wilcoxon tests. According to the research, children in the experimental group were more successful than children who formed the control group in the early mathematical skills assessment tests. As a result, KCBMEP was found to be effective in the development of mathematical skills in children aged 36-48 months.
