Abstract:

The Internet, which is one of the most important tools of the digital era, performs many basic functions such as communication, interaction, news and reporting quickly. With the replacement of traditional mass media such as radio, television and printed newspapers with the internet, social media, internet journalism, youtube, virtual cinema have enabled the emergence of many new mass media platforms. Today, in light of the "pandemic" phenomenon announced as a global health problem of covid-19 virus, the need for people to receive information has increased and many news has started to appear in both traditional and digital mass media in the national/local media. In this study, data was collected through the local internet news media, which quickly replaced printed newspapers. In order to determine how the local pandemic is perceived in the reporting process and to determine the news style, Konya province was selected as a sample of the internet news sites operating at the local level and the news headlines and headlines related to the pandemic were analyzed on 5 internet news sites that published on the Internet. In the study, the news about the pandemic in Turkey until 01-31 March 2021, the first year of the pandemic, was examined.
