Abstract:

The liberalization of international trade is defended by the mainstream economists. Also supported by empirical studies, the countries open to international trade are developing faster. Today, especially after the 2008 global crisis, many countries are implementing protective policies. These protective policies are in conflict with the rules of the World Trade Organization. The World Trade Organization, however, is also working to facilitate the liberalization of international trade. The facilitation of international trade is to the benefit of everyone living on Earth. The World Trade Organization is a organization managed by members of the World Trade Organisation. The World Trade Organization is only a platform for negotiations between the member countries. The World Trade Organization’s Doha Tour talks are ongoing since 2001. Members have not reached an agreement on the issues on the agenda. These issues are a root reform in the World Trade Organization structure. In the event of agreements between the Member States, the World Trade Organization will be more effective against global developments. The fragmentary structure of the international community makes it difficult to make decisions in the World Trade Organization. The world’s depression of confidence after the trade wars has driven the whole world into a conflict environment. This study examines the protective policies, starting from the United States and spreading to the main economies, and in the opposite direction of these policies, the effects of the process of facilitating trade under the World Trade Organization in terms of global trade and the importance of the World Trade Organization in this process.
