Abstract:

(Stock Price Forecasting by Using Artificial Neural Networks in Iron-Steel Sector: A Forecasting Application on Erdemir Co. and Kardemir Co.) Managers and investors have tended to use computer assisted mathematical calculation techniques more frequently in order to reduce the ambiguities about their future plans. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models, as one of these techniques, begin to be used more and more in business life thanks to successful solutions produced by the model. In this study, two ANN models are established in order to forecast the stocks of Erdemir Co. and Kardemir Co., which are the two big companies of Turkish Iron-Steel Sector as one of the biggest leading sectors of Turkey. The results show that ANNs are very successful in the forecasting of stocks.
