Çevre sorunları, insanoğlunun geleceğini tehdit eden çağımızınönemli problemlerindendir. Dünyanın yarınlarını şekillendirecek, geleceğin yetişkinleri olan çocuklar, çevre sorunlarının ne kadar farkındalar ve çevre sorunlarını nasıl algılıyorlar? Bu araştırmanın amacı, 4. ve 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin “çevre sorunları” kavramına yönelik algılarını çizdikleri resimler ışığında ortaya koymak ve çevre sorunlarına yönelik ürettikleri simgeleri incelemektir. Çalışmanın temel veri kaynağını Tokat il merkezindeki, iki devlet bir özel okulda öğrenim görmekte olan toplam 102 öğrencinin resimleri ve çevre sorunlarıyla ilgili yazdıkları ifadeler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda çocukların çevre sorunları denilince akıllarına gelen üç şey ile çizdikleri resimler arasında benzerlik olduğu belirlenmiş ve çevre sorunlarına yönelik olarak ürettikleri simgeler betimlenmiştir.
Environmental problems are one of the major problems of our age that threaten the future of mankind. Children who will shape the world’s tomorrow, the adults of the future, how aware of the environmental problems and how they perceive the environmental problems? The aim of this study is to show the students of 4th and 5th classes their perceptions of the concept of "environmental problems" in the light of the images they draw and to study the symbols they produce for environmental problems. The basic data source of the study is the images of a total of 102 students who are studying in a private school in the center of Tokat province, and the statements they write about environmental issues. The research finds that when children are called environmental problems, there is a similarity between the three things that come to their mind and the images they draw and the symbols they produce towards environmental problems.
