Abstract:

Bir hizmet endüstrisi olarak turizmde hizmet kalitesini etkileyen faktörlerin başında işgören kalitesi gelmektedir. Bu kalitenin derecesini belirleyen işgörenin işe karşı olumlu mesleki tutumlarıdır. Turizmde işgörenler ile konuklar birbirlerinden fiziksel ve psikolojik olarak kolayca etkilenmektedirler. Bu nedenle turizm sektöründe turizm eğitimi alarak mesleki nitelik kazanmış işgörenlerin, hizmet kalitesinin yükseltilmesinde ve buna bağlı olarak iş hacminin büyümesi, zaman, malzeme, para ve işgücü tasarrufunda, verimliliğin ve işletme değerinin artırılmasında önemli rol oynadığı bir gerçektir. Turizm eğitiminin amacı, turizm sektöründe çalışacak nitelikli üst ve alt kademe işgücünün yetiştirilmesidir. Fakat günümüze kadar yapılan araştırma sonuçlarına göre, turizm eğitimi almış bireylerin büyük çoğunluğunun sektörü tercih etmedikleri bilinmektedir. Yapılan araştırmalarda turizm sektörünün düşük ücretli, çok yetenek gerektirmeyen, genellikle önemsiz ve basit işler olarak görülmesine yol açan olumsuz imaja sahip, kötü yönetime maruz kalınan, part-time veya mevsimlik iş ve kariyer beklentilerine cevap veremeyen bir sektör olarak görülmesi sektörün tercih edilmemesinin ana faktörleri olarak görülmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, turizm eğitimi alan ve zorunlu stajını tamamlamış mevcut lisans öğrencilerinin (Zile Dinçerler Turizm İşletmeciliği ve Otelcilik Yüksekokulu) turizm sektöründeki istihdama dair görüşleri ile turizm sektörüne yönelik kariyer düşüncelerini belirlemektir.

As a service industry, the quality of the employer comes at the forefront of the factors that affect the quality of the service in tourism. The position of the employee that determines the degree of this quality is the positive attitude of the employee to the job. In tourism, employers and guests are easily influenced by each other physically and psychically. Therefore, it is a fact that employers who gained professional qualification by taking tourism training in the tourism sector, in the improvement of the quality of the service and consequently the growth of the work volume, time, material, money and labour savings, in the increase of efficiency and business value, plays an important role. The purpose of tourism training is to train the qualified upper and lower-level labour force to work in the tourism sector. But according to the results of the research to date, it is known that the vast majority of individuals who have received tourism education do not prefer the industry. In research, the tourism sector is seen as a sector that has a low-paid, not requires much talent, often has a negative image that leads to being seen as unimportant and simple jobs, is exposed to poor management, is not able to meet part-time or seasonal business and career expectations as the main factors that do not prefer the sector. The aim of this study is to determine the career ideas of the tourism sector with the views of the existing bachelor’s students (Zile Dinçerler Tourism Management and Hospitality High School) who have received tourism education and completed their compulsory internship.
