Taşımalı ilköğretim uygulaması; nüfusu az ve dağınık yerleşim birimlerindeki zorunlu öğrenim çağındaki çocukların, merkezi okullara günübirlik taşınmaları suretiyle yapılan uygulamadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, taşımalı ilköğretim uygulamasına ilişkin yönetici, öğretmen ve öğrenci görüşlerini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmanın evrenini, 2004–2005 Eğitim-Öğretim Yılı’nda Van İl merkezinde görev yapan okul yöneticileri, öğretmenler ve ilköğretim 2. kademe taşımalı öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Van İl merkezinde araştırmaya, 16 yönetici, 157 öğretmen ve 350 öğrenci olmak üzere toplam 523 denek katılmıştır. İstatistikî verilerden elde edilen bilgilere göre, 1990–1991 Eğitim- Öğretim Yılı’nda 9 İl’de başlatılan taşımalı ilköğretim uygulaması her yıl arttırılarak yaygınlaştırılmıştır. Ulaşılan sonuçlar ve önerilerin sunumu ile çalışma tamamlanmıştır
