Devamsızlık yaygın olarak çalışanın programlanmış mesaiye gelmemesi olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Ampirik araştırmalar çalışan devamsızlığında çeşitli demografik ve örgütsel değişkenlerin etkili olduğunu göstermektedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, Türkiye’de faaliyet gösteren büyük bir tekstil şirketinin örneklemi kapsamında devamsızlığı etkileyen faktörleri incelemektir. İstatistiksel analizler, devamsızlık düzeyi ile yaş, kıdem, işin niteliği ve medeni durum arasında anlamlı bir korelasyon olduğunu göstermiştir. İlgi çekici bulgulardan birisi, devamsızlıkla deneklerin burçları arasında anlamlı ve pozitif yönlü ilişki bulunmasıdır. Regresyon analizleri, eğitim ve kıdem düzeyinin çalışan devamsızlığının anlamlı belirleyicileri olduğunu ortaya koymuştur.
