Abstract:

The linear economy model, which is widely used by countries, has been in the act of consuming natural resources and creating waste since the industrial revolution. The circular economy model, which closes the linear economy flow, provides resource efficiency by developing methods to reintroduce waste into the economy. In this context study, in Turkey under the influence of urban transformation has been increased use the rate of waste it will generate in the future of aerated concrete and other building materials, is intended to draw attention to the subject can be reduced by the circular economy. This topic is aimed to examine the studies carried out in aerated concrete production and recycling with the circular economy movement in Germany, one of the leading countries. In this context, by examining three studies determined by the literature research method, it has been understood that Germany is the leader in the world in terms of recycling rates of gas concrete wastes as well as general structural wastes thanks to circular economy practices. In our country where structural wastes are mostly not utilized, the "Zero Waste Project" is an important development that will support the circular economy approach towards the building sector. In this context, it is thought that the study will raise awareness about determining sustainable production and recycling methods in the context of the circular economy by including other structural wastes, especially aerated concrete, within the scope of the Zero Waste Project.
