Abstract:

Benign multicistic peritoneal mezotelyoma (BMPM) is a rare neoplasm that is radiologically difficult to distinguish from other cystic neoplasms. A fourteen-year-old woman appealed to emergency service with a patient’s stomach pain complaint. After physical examination and radiological imaging over tortion was planned for gynecological laparoscopy. During gynecological laparoscopy, a severe mass was observed in the drainage area and a right hemicolectomy was performed. For example, a multicistic mass of 4x4x2,5 cm was present in the drawing area sent to the pathological department. Morphological findings in hematoxylene-eosine cuts and immunohistochemical studies have been diagnosed with BMPM. Considering clinical and radiological characteristics, the diagnosis of BMPM, which can be a challenging process, is mainly pathological. These injuries often repeat and rarely show malignant transformation. Therefore, the distinctive diagnosis must be taken into account.
