Bu makalede, med süreleri için takdir edilen ölçü birimleri hakkında kıraat literatüründe ortaya çıkan farklı yaklaşımlar tetkik edilmiştir. Muteber med ekollerinden “üç elif ekolü” ile “beş elif ekolü”nün uygulamaları zahiren farklı sonuçlar vermesine rağmen bunlar keyfiyet itibarıyla ayniyet arz etmektedir. Fakat bu konudaki farklı uygulamalar, kıraat ilmiyle iştigal edenler de dâhil olmak üzere, zihinleri bulandıran bir meseledir. Bundan hareketle mezkûr konunun aydınlatılması ve hakkındaki muğlaklıkların giderilmesi çalışmanın hedeflerindendir. Nitekim bu çalışmada med ölçü birimleri hakkındaki farklılıkların ve bunların mahiyetleri bakımından durumlarının izah edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçlar doğrultusunda konunun kıraat literatüründeki panoraması resmedilmeye çalışılmıştır. Yapılan çalışma neticesinde üç farklı med ekolü belirlenmiş ve ulema nezdinde bu üç ekolden “üç elif ekolü” ile “beş elif ekolü”nün muteber olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Her ne kadar bu ekollerin kullanımlarında maddi farklılıklar olsa da bunların mahiyet itibarıyla ayniyet arz ettikleri saptanmıştır.
In this article, different approaches that emerged in the qirāʾāt literature about the units of measure related to the durations of the madd are examined. Although the practices of “the school of three alif” and “the school of five alif” which are among the respected schools of madd, seem to give different results, they are the same in terms of quality. However, the different practices on this subject, including those who deal with the science of qirāʾāt, is a matter that confuses the minds. From this point of view, one of the objectives of the study is to illuminate the aforementioned subject and eliminate any ambiguities about it. As a matter of fact, in this study, it is aimed to explain the differences about madd measurement units and their status in terms of their essence. For these purposes, the panorama of the subject in the qirāʾāt literature has been tried to be depicted. As a result of the study, three different schools of madd were determined and it was determined that among these three schools, “the school of three alif” and “the school of five alif” were reliable. Although there are apparent differences in the usage of these schools, it has been determined that they are the same in essence.
