Abstract:

The first works about children's literature in Turkey are seen in the Tanzimat Period. Children's literature publications, which first started with translated works from English and French literature, later began to develop with copyrighted works. Among the literary products of Turks living outside Turkey, children's literature works constitute an important place. The Balkan Turks, who lived under the rule of the Ottoman Empire for a long time, also attach importance to children's literature products in order to keep their language and culture alive. Kuş, Piyoner, Sevinç, Tomurcuk, published in the former Yugoslavia; Magazines such as Eylülcü Çocuk and Filiz published in Bulgaria helped the Balkan Turks to carry their language and culture to the present day. Apart from these publications, the Birlik newspaper, which was published in Skopje for more than thirty years, emerged as an address where nationalist Turkish intellectuals gathered. In this respect, the newspaper also serves as a school that trains writers and poets. Necati Zekeriya, İlhami Emin, Nusret Ülkü Dişo are among the writers who grew up in this school. In this study, Nusret Dişo Ülkü's book "Çocuklar ve Büyük Çocuklar", will be examined in terms of children's literature and the principle of relativity to children.
