Bu araştırma ile sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının afet hazırbulunuşluk seviyelerinin cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, yaşanılan coğrafi bölge, afet dersi alma, afet yaşama durumları, yaşadıkları afette can ya da mal kaybına uğramaları ve sosyoekonomik düzeyi durumlarına göre incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, nicel araştırma yaklaşımına uygun olarak tarama modeline göre yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın örneklemini kolay ulaşılabilir örnekleme ile belirlenen 212 sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak, ‘‘Genel Afet Hazırbulunuşluk Ölçeği’’ kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın alt problemlerine yanıt aramak için parametrik testlerden yararlanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular neticesinde sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının afet hazırbulunuşluk seviyelerinin yüksek düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının afet hazırbulunuşluk seviyesinin en yüksek olduğu alt boyut ‘Algılanan Duyarlılık’ boyutu, en düşük olduğu alt boyut ise ‘Algılanan Engeller’ boyutunun olduğu saptanmıştır.
The aim of this research is to examine the disaster preparedness levels of social studies teacher candidates based on gender, grade level, geographical region of residence, disaster education, experiences with disasters, whether they suffered loss of life or property in the disaster they experienced, and their socioeconomic status. The research sample consisted of 212 social studies teacher candidates selected through convenient sampling. In this research, which employed the survey model of quantitative research methods, data were collected using the "General Disaster Preparedness Scale." Parametric tests were utilized to address the sub-problems of the research. The findings revealed that social studies teacher candidates have a high level of disaster preparedness. The highest sub-dimension of disaster preparedness among social studies teacher candidates is the "Perceived Sensitivity" dimension, while the lowest sub-dimension is found to be the "Perceived Barriers" dimension.
