Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmenlerin empatik eğilimlerini ölçmek ve empati düzeylerini çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelemektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini, farklı öğretim kademelerinde çalışan 118 (64’ü kadın, 54’ü erkek) öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, veri toplama araçları olarak “empatik eğilim ölçeği” ve araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre; öğretmenlerin empatik düzeylerinin orta düzeyde olduğu, cinsiyet ve kıdem değişkenleri açısından bir farklılığın olmadığı görülmüştür. Öğretim kademesi açısından bakıldığında ilkokul öğretmenlerinin empati düzeylerinin lise öğretmenlerinin empati düzeylerinden anlamlı derecede yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Elde edilen bulgular ilgili literatür ile birlikte tartışılmıştır.
The purpose of this research is to measure teachers' empathic tendencies and to examine their empathy levels in terms of various variables. The sample of the study consists of 118 (64 female, 54 male) teachers working at different education levels. In this study, "Empathic Tendency Scale" and "Personal Information Form" developed by the researcher were used as data collection tools. According to the research findings; It was seen that the empathic levels of the teachers were moderate, and there was no difference in terms of gender and seniority variables. In terms of teaching level, it was seen that the empathy levels of primary school teachers were significantly higher than the empathy levels of high school teachers. The findings were discussed together with the relevant literature.
