Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaokul 6. sınıf “Ses ve Özellikleri” ünitesine yönelik, geçerliği ve güvenirliği test edilmiş bir kavramsal anlama testi geliştirmektir. “Ses ve Özellikleri” Ünitesi Kavramsal Anlama Testi (SÖKAT) Giresun il merkezinde dört farklı ortaokulda öğrenim gören toplam 100 ortaokul 6. sınıf öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında geliştirilen SÖKAT iki aşamalı bir yapıda hazırlanmış olup nihai hali toplam 18 maddeden oluşmaktadır. SÖKAT için güvenirlik ve geçerlik çalışmaları yapılmıştır. SÖKAT’ın birinci aşaması çoktan seçenekli olup, bu aşamadaki maddelerin güvenirlik analizi için KR-20 hesaplanmıştır. SÖKAT’ın ikinci aşaması açık uçlu bir yapıda hazırlanmış olup SÖKAT’ın birinci ve ikinci aşaması birlikte değerlendirilerek Cronbach Alpha güvenilirlik katsayısı hesaplanmıştır. SÖKAT’ın KR-20 değeri 0,79 ve Cronbach Alpha değeri 0,85 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Madde analizi sonuçlarına göre madde güçlük indeksi (p) 0,59, ayırt edicilik indeksinin (d) ise 0,56 olduğu belirlenmiştir. SÖKAT’ın geçerliği için uzman görüşlerine ve hipotez test tekniğine başvurulmuştur. Uzmanlar testin geçerli olduğu yönünde görüş belirtmiş olup, hipotez testlerinden bağımsız gruplar t-testi sonuçları da SÖKAT’ın bilenle bilmeyeni ayırt edebildiğine yani geçerli bir test olduğuna işaret etmektedir. Ulaşılan bu değerlerden geliştirilen SÖKAT’ın ortaokul 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin “Ses ve Özellikleri” ünitesindeki kavramlarla ilgili kavramsal anlamalarını belirleme geçerliğe ve güvenirliğe sahip ve geleneksel testlere alternatif bir kavram testi olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The aim of this research is to develop a concept understanding test for the 6th grade "Sound and its Characteristics" unit in middle school, which has been tested for validity and reliability. The Sound and its Characteristics Unit Conceptual Understanding Test (SCUCUT) was administered to a total of 100 6th grade students studying in four different middle schools in the city center of Giresun. The SCUCUT developed within the scope of the research was prepared in two-tier and its final version consists of a total of 18 items. Reliability and validity studies were conducted for SCUCUT. The first stage of SCUCUT is multiple-choice, and KR-20 was calculated for the reliability analysis of the items in this stage. The second stage of SCUCUT was prepared in an open-ended format, and the Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient was calculated by evaluating the first and second stages of SCUCUT together. The KR-20 value of SCUCUT was calculated as 0,79 and the Cronbach's Alpha value was calculated as 0,85. According to the item analysis results, the item difficulty index (p) was found to be 0,59, and the discrimination index (d) was found to be 0,56. Expert opinions and hypothesis testing techniques were employed for the validity of SCUCUT. Experts expressed that the test is valid, and the independent samples t-test results from the hypothesis tests also indicate that SCUCUT is capable of distinguishing between those who know and those who do not, confirming its validity as a test. Based on these findings, it was concluded that the developed SCUCUT has validity and reliability in determining the conceptual understanding of 6th grade students in the sound and characteristics unit and is an alternative conceptual test to traditional tests.
