Abstract:

This study examines the effects of the application of interactive teaching strategies in “Self Awareness and Communication Management” course on nursing students’ learning. This research was carried out by using the one group post-test design involves 83 undergraduate nursing students. The data have been gathered through the administration of Individual Information Form and Portfolio Evaluation Forms. Data were evaluated by using percentage, Mann-Whitney U test, Friedman analysis of variance; Wilcoxon matched samples test and Kruskal Wallis test. At the end of the study, it was observed that the scores of the students from Portfolio Evaluation Forms increased significantly as the subjects moved on, final exam scores of the students on topics covered in the teaching program were significantly higher than scores of the students in the previous academic year.
