Abstract:

This study aims to reveal the level of attitude of teachers candidates towards social media. For this purpose, the "social media attitude scale" was used. The study included 346 women and 165 men who studied throughout the 2014-2015 academic year, with a total of 511 teachers in the fields of science. In this study conducted using the scan method, the fields of science have found that the level of relationship with the teacher from the subdimensions of the attitude of the teacher candidates to social media has shown a significant difference in the benefit of the girls students. The scale of the attitude of teachers candidates to social media needs to be shared, the social competence and social isolation subdimensions show a significant difference according to the variable of membership in social media sites is one of the important data of the study. Moreover, findings on the lower dimension of social isolation have shown that with the increase in social media use of teacher candidates, their social isolation has increased. In this context, from young age, teaching students time management and ensuring them to control the time they spend on the internet is one of the research’s recommendations.
