Bu çalışmanın amacı fen bilimleri öğretmen adaylarının Tahmin Et- Gözle- Açıkla (TGA) yöntemine dayalı deney tasarımı konusundaki yeterliliklerinin belirlenmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan bütüncül tek durum deseninden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim yılında İstanbul’da bir üniversitede Fen Öğretimi Laboratuvar Uygulamaları-2 dersini almakta olan 57 fen bilimleri öğretmen adayının katılımı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında öğretmen adaylarına TGA yöntemi ile ilgili dört saatlik seminer dersi verilmiştir. Seminerden üç hafta sonra öğretmen adayları gruplar oluşturarak mayalanma konusunda TGA yöntemine dayalı bir deney tasarlayarak bu tasarımı rapor haline getirmişlerdir. Bunun sonucunda 17 adet rapor veri kaynağı olarak elde edilmiştir. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak TGA’ya dayalı deney tasarımlarını değerlendirmek amacıyla araştırmacılar tarafından alan yazın taraması sonucunda geliştirilen 11 maddelik TGA tasarımı değerlendirme aracı (TGAT) kullanılmıştır. TGA’ya dayalı deney tasarımları tahmin, gözlem, açıklama aşamalarındaki ifadeler bakımından kapalı kodlama yoluyla betimsel olarak iki bağımsız değerlendirici tarafından analiz edilmiş ve verilerin güvenirliği için hesaplanan uyuşum yüzdesinin .86 olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının deney tasarlarken gözlem aşamasında yeterli (%72), tahmin aşamasında kısmen yeterli (%45) ve açıklama aşamasında yetersiz (%20,5) oldukları görülmektedir. TGA’ya dayalı deney tasarımlarının tüm aşamaları değerlendirildiğinde ise başarı yüzdesinin %49,5 olduğu ve bu değerin ortalama değere yakın olduğu ve adayların tasarımlarında kısmen yeterli oldukları belirlenmiştir.
The aim of this study is to determine the qualifications of the teachers candidates in the field of experimental design based on the method of Predict-Over-Open (TGA). For this purpose, one of the qualitative research methods in the study is the integrated one-situation pattern. Research 2018-2019 was carried out with the participation of 57 science teachers candidates who are taking the course of Science Teaching Laboratory Applications-2 at an university in Istanbul in the educational year. In the framework of the study, teachers candidates were given four-hour seminar lessons on the TGA method. Three weeks after the seminar, the teacher candidates formed groups and made this design a report by designing a TGA method-based experiment in the field of crawling. This resulted in 17 reports as a source of data. The study used the 11 material TGA design evaluation tool (TGAT) developed by researchers as a result of the summer scan of the field in order to evaluate TGA-based experimental designs as a data collection tool. The TGA-based experimental designs were visually analyzed by two independent evaluators through closed coding in terms of expression in the forecast, observation, and descriptive stages and determined that the consistency percentage calculated for data reliability was .86. The research finds that teaching candidates are sufficient at the observation stage (72%), partially sufficient at the forecast stage (45) and insufficient at the description stage (20,5%). When evaluated all stages of TGA-based experimental designs, the success rate was 49.5%, and this value was close to the average, and candidates were partially sufficient in their designs.
