Abstract:

The aim of this in vitro study is to study the effects of different polysystem on the surface smoothness of ten different resin composites. Method and Requirements: 60 samples were prepared for each tested resin composite. For the preparation of the samples, 8 mm diameter, 2 mm depth pleksiglas patterns were used. The prepared samples were divided into five subgroups according to the polish procedure applied. In Group 1, a control group was created without any polysage applied to the sample surfaces. In Group 2; Clearfil Twist Dia, Group 3; Pogo, Group 4; Sof-Lex and Group 5; Super Snap used the polysage process to the sample surfaces. Surface smoothness measurements of resin composite samples were measured from three different points using the profilometer device and the resulting surface smoothness values were recorded. The data obtained were statistically analyzed in a 95% confidence range with Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney U test (Bonferroni correction). FUNCTIONS: In all the tested resin compounds, a significant difference was found between the surface smoothness values obtained between the polisage groups (p<0.05). Except for Geanial and Gradia Direct, the control group has significantly lower smoothness values (p<0.05) in all resin composites. Furthermore, in all the polisage groups, there was a significant difference between the smoothness values of the tested resin composites (p<0.05). CONTRIBUTION and RESULT: The characteristics of the resin composite used during the implementation of finish and polysage processes in aesthetic restoration should also be taken into account.
