Abstract:

Social participation is a skill that students need in every aspect of their lives, lots of factors are effective in the process of acquiring and developing, and if it is not acquired, it negatively affects the school life and daily life of the students. Therefore, it is of great importance that this skill has taught to students from an early age. This research aims to determine the social participation skill levels of primary school 4th-grade students in terms of various variables. For this purpose, the survey model, one of the quantitative research approaches, was used throughout the research. The study group of the research consists of 1103 primary school fourth-grade students studying in public primary schools and private primary schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in the central districts of Ankara in the 2019/2020 academic year. In order to determine the social participation skill levels of the students participating in the research and determine the variables that affect the social participation skill levels, the personal information form and the "Social Participation Skills Determination Scale" were applied. According to the results of the research, it has seen that primary school 4th-grade students had a high level of social participation skills. Moreover, it has been determined that some variables are effective in students' social participation skills.
