Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Sıhhiye ve Muavenet-i İçtimaiye Vekâleti Neşriyatından olan “Türkiye’nin Sıhhi İçtimai Coğrafyası, Urfa Vilayeti” isimli çalışma, Türkiye’nin Sıhhi İçtimai Coğrafyası dizisi dâhilinde yayınlanmıştır. Bu dizi, ilki 1922 Mart’ında basılan Sinop Sancağı olmak üzere toplam 19 kitaptan oluşmaktadır. Bunlardan 8 tanesi 1922 yılında, 7 tanesi 1925 yılında, 2 tanesi 1926 yılında, 1 tanesi 1932 yılında ve sonuncusu da 1938 yılında basılmıştır. Öğüt Gazetesi matbaasında 1922 yılında basılmaya başlanan kitaplar, Cumhuriyetin ilânından sonra ise İstanbul’da Hilal Matbaası ile bu eser gibi Kâğıtçılık ve Matbaacılık Anonim Şirketi tarafından basılmıştır. Hedef bütün Türkiye’nin tetkik edilmesi olmasına rağmen çalışma tamamlanamamış, sadece 19 vilayet hususunda yapılan çalışmalar basılmıştır. Bu diziye her ne kadar Sıhhi İçtimai Coğrafya adı verilmişse de içerdiği bilgiler sadece sıhhi ve içtimai coğrafya konuları değil bölgenin tarihi, idari yapısı, halk kültürü, tıp, çevrebilim, iktisat ve diğer konular için son derece önemli bir kaynak olup, Milli Mücadele ve Cumhuriyetin kuruluş yıllarına ait oldukça önemli bilgiler içermektedir. Bu bilgiler ışığında Urfa Vilayetine ait çalışma incelendiğinde eserin 46 sayfa ve beş kısımdan oluştuğu ve bu kısımların da alt başlıklarının şu şekilde oluşturulduğu görülmüştür: Birinci Kısımda hudut, tul(boylam), arz dereceleri, yüzölçümü, dağlar, nehirler, göller, bataklıklar, sazlıklar, jeoloji, maden, ormanlar, şifalı sular ve kaplıcalar, meyve ağaçları, bağlar, nebatat, ziraat, hayvanat- ehliye ve vahşiye hakkında bilgiler verilmiştir. İkinci Kısım iklim, mevsimler, sıcaklık, rüzgârlar, yağışlar ve rutubet konularını içerir. Üçüncü Kısımda Urfa Vilayetinin mülki taksimatı, tarihi, eski serleri, kazaları hususları bulunmaktadır. Dördüncü Kısımda hastaneler, dispanserler, eczaneler, mektepler, hanlar, oteller, hamamlar, fabrikalar, tuvaletlerin şekli ve kanalizasyon, camiler, kabristanlar, bataklıklar, içilen sular ele alınmıştır. Beşinci Kısımda bulaşıcı hastalıklar, frengi, malarya (sıtma), verem, çiçek, difteri, lekeli humma ve tifo, akli ve asabi hastalıklar, trahom, eski salgın hastalıklar hakkında malumat gibi tıbbi konularına yer verilmiştir. Eserin sonunda ayrıca Urfa vilayeti ile ilgili ayrıntılı bazı haritalara da yer verilmiştir.
The work entitled "Turkey's Healthy Intimate Geography, Urfa Province" from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey has been published within the series of Healthy Intimate Geography of Turkey. This series consists of a total of 19 books, the first of which was published in March 1922. Eight of them were published in 1922, seven in 1925, two in 1926, one in 1932 and the last in 1938. The books that began to be printed in 1922, and after the proclamation of the Republic in Istanbul with Hilal Matbaası and this work were printed by the Anonymous Company of Paperwork and Matbaacılık. Although the goal was to inspect the whole of Turkey, the work was not completed, only 19 provinces were printed. Although this series is called Healthy Intimate Geography, the information it contains is an extremely important source for the history, administrative structure, public culture, medicine, environmental science, economics and other subjects, and it contains very important information about the years of the National Struggle and the Republic's establishment. In the light of this information, the study of the Urfa province has been studied and it has been found that the work consists of 46 pages and five parts and the subtitles of these parts are also formed as follows: in the first part; humidity, tul(boylam), supply degrees, surface size, mountains, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, seals, geology, mining, forests, healing waters and caprices, fruit trees, gardens, nebatat, ziraat, animal transport and wildlife. The second part includes the topics of climate, seasons, temperature, winds, rainfall and rainfall. In the third part; the property taxation of the Urfa province, history, ancient seeds, accidents are the details. In the fourth part; hospitals, dispansers, pharmacies, mektupes, houses, hotels, hammas, factories, the shape and the sanitation of the toilets, mosques, cabbages, waterfalls, drinking water. The fifth part includes medical subjects such as infectious diseases, frengi, malaria (malaria), verem, flower, difteria, spotted humma and tifo, mental and asabi diseases, trahoma, malumata about ancient epidemic diseases. At the end of the work there were also some detailed maps about the province of Urfa.
