Abstract:

The study aimed at examining the projects that were decided to be supported in the pre-school period within the framework of the TÜBİTAK 4004 Natural Education and Science Schools Support Programme between 2016 and 2018, according to the various dimensions. The research was designed in accordance with the scan model and the findings related to the sub-objects of the study were analyzed by content analysis. The research finds that the most projects decided to be supported in the pre-school period belong to 2017, the most projects were carried out by universities, the majority of the projects were implemented in the Mediterranean region, and the most were carried out with children of the age group of 5-6 years. Moreover, the majority of the projects were determined to be carried out with the aim of ensuring that children develop positive attitudes and values towards nature and supporting the growth of conscious and healthy generations, and the implementation period of the projects was observed from 4 days to 3 months. It has been shown that the projects focus on learning by doing the most in terms of the teaching method and that the research and observation techniques are most used in the projects.
