Abstract:

The Covid-19 epidemic caused problems in social life, and as a result, countries had to take various precautions. Some of the precautions taken have been in the field of education. In this process, it has been observed that many countries around the world have switched to distance/online education. This process has developed similarly in the member states of the Organization of Turkic States. First, distance education initiated using tools such as television and radio channels was supported by digital platforms developed in countries, and then an attempt was made to create an online education option through different applications. In addition, technological tools were distributed to teachers and students, and courses were given to improve teachers' ability to teach in a digital environment. When the research and published reports are examined; in the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States, it has been observed that the lack of physical and technological infrastructure, teachers, students, and parents are not sufficiently ready for distance/ online education. In addition, it has been determined that information and communication technologies cannot be used efficiently, that there are problems such as falling attendance rates, insufficient course times, lack of digital content, inability to provide feedback, problems in ensuring the reliability of measurement and evaluation and loss of motivation.
