Abstract:

As words can show changes in the characteristics of sound, form, meaning in the historic process, they can also show changes in the characteristics of type. The word "public" which is the subject of this study has also shown a change in the Western Turkish in terms of the species characteristics. The word "kamu" in ancient Anadolu Turkish can be used in the type of zamir and sifat, while in Turkish Turkish it is in the type of name. In this study, it was intended to determine the appearances of the public word in ancient Anadolu Turkish in terms of the kind characteristics. For this purpose, the appearances of the word "kamu" in Garibnâme from the works of the Ancient Anadolu Turkish period have been determined in terms of type. According to the examples specified in Garibnâme, the drawing characteristics shown in the use of the word as zamir are focused on the sending function. In the use of the word as a status, the name element has been assessed according to the unity-multibility status, and the public word has also been addressed in terms of the use of association with the names.
