Abstract:

The purpose of this research is the Professional High School of Information Technology Area 10. The class is to identify the impact of the use of the "Socratic Question Method" in the teaching of the subject of "Ohm Law" within the framework of the "Basic Electronics and Measurement Course" and to acquire student opinions about the method applied. The research study group consists of 15 students who are studying at the 10th grade level in the field of Information Technology of a professional high school in Karaman in the 2016-2017 academic year. The study was conducted with a single group of pre-test-sontest experimental models. The experimental group used the Socratic Question Method as a method of learning and teaching on the "Ohm Law" of the basic electronics and measurement course. The success test developed by the researcher was applied as a pre-test before experimental study, estest after experimental studies and durability test 1 month after the completion of the experimental process. The qualitative data collected was used by the weekly learning days kept by students. Nicel data analysis, visual statistical techniques and related measurements are performed using the Wilcoxon-marked order test. Qualitative data obtained from the learning diaries were analyzed using the visual analysis technique. When examining the quantitative findings of the study, the Sokratic Question Method has been shown to be effective in improving student academic achievements and ensuring the durability of what is learned. Students who participated in the study expressed a general positive view on the impact of the Socratic Question Method on learning, personal development and class climate. The majority of students expressed that they found the application quite different and interesting and that they wanted to do it again; some said that it would be useful to do in the courses of the field of science. The research findings have been studied according to the relevant area and have been presented in various recommendations for the application and possible research.
