Abstract:

As a result of the wars that continued until 1918, the territory of Anatolia was destroyed. After this date, the enemy occupation began to continue until 1922. Infectious and infectious diseases were spread throughout the country. In 1920, with the opening of the Great National Assembly of Turkey, the first steps were taken in the field of health in Anadolu. TBMM, on the one hand, struggles with the enemy forces while on the other hand, does not stop producing policies for the protection of public health. The 3rd law established the Health and Muavenet-i Intimity Council. Although the government of Istanbul has prevented the shipping of medicines and other medical equipment from Istanbul, the victory has been made with extraordinary efforts in the field of healthcare. The possibility of taking advantage of the health facilities in Istanbul, which ended the enemy's occupation in the process following the Republic's announcement, was born. In 1924, the health policy determined what should be done in the first place. The fight against infectious diseases, the opening of new hospitals, the training of doctors, the awareness of the public and the implementation of legal regulations were among the priorities. This study discussed the establishment process and the activities of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the early Republic period.
