Abstract:

People’s Republic of China aimed at being a Global power since it was set up in 1949. As failed a Stalinist centrally-planned, close to World and autarkist development policy that Mao Zedong had adopted, pragmatic leaders of China, Deng Hiaoping, Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao, had decided to integrate China to Global economy through free markets, realizing that Marxist socialism was an ideological bottleneck in Chinese economic development. China which is in the life-long leadership of Xi Jinping has tried to set up a Chinese World System and gain a Global hegemon status through neo-mercantilism with Chinese caracteristics under the umbrella of socialism with Chinese caracteristics, a special kind of national socialism depending on Chinese nation not Chinese working class. Trade unions in China are not the representatives of workers but an administrative bureau of Communist Party of China. Although the policy of integrating China into the Global economy via free markets brings it to the status of the second big economy and that of Global hegemon in the world, passifization of working class and eliminating its right of strike off the constitution have left working class unprotected against the foreign and domestic capital. Enacted new labor laws have not been functional during implementation pace. Working class in China is sacrificed to foreign investments by Communist Party of China. It is not unfair to conclude that Chinese World System has been rising over the shoulders of Chinese working class which has been heavily exploited by domestic and international capital. The aim of this article is to investigate the role of Chinese working class in the building process of Chinese World system.
