Bu araştırmanın amacı eğitim alanında proje tabanlı öğrenme yöntemi üzerine gerçekleştirilen bilimsel çalışmaların bibliyometrik analizini gerçekleştirerek bu alandaki genel durumu ve eğilimi açığa çıkarmaya çalışmaktır. Bu bağlamda araştırma, elde edilen verilerin doğası gereği, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman inceleme yöntemine göre gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler betimsel ve bibliyometrik analiz yöntemleri ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında WoS veritabanına erişim sağlanarak “Project-based learning” anahtar kavramı başlıkta taranmıştır. Bu bağlamda 09.06.2022 tarihinde gerçekleştirilen taramada eğitim alanında ilgili anahtar kavramı içeren toplam 998 bilimsel çalışma olduğu görülmüştür. Erişim sağlanan bulgular öncelikle WoS veri tabanında betimsel özellikler açısından analiz edilmiştir. Ardından elde edilen veriler kaydedilerek VOSviewer programı yardımıyla da bibliyografik özellikler olarak ifade edilen atıf sayıları, ortak atıf, ortak yazarlık, birlikte bulunma, bibliyografik eşleştirme analiz tipleri bakımından yazar, kurum ve ülkelere göre analiz edilmiştir. Buna göre en fazla bilimsel çalışmanın 2017 yılında yayınlandığı ve yayınların büyük çoğunluğunun İngilizce ve İspanyolca dillerinde olduğu görülmüştür. ABD ve İspanya kaynaklı yayınların çoğunlukta olduğu, alandaki en üretken yazarların Krajcik ve Lou olduğu ve yayınları ile en yüksek atıf sayısına sahip derginin de “Educational Psychologist” olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Sonuç olarak araştırmada eğitim alanında proje tabanlı öğrenme yöntemi üzerine gerçekleştirilen bilimsel çalışmaların genel eğilimleri analiz edilerek analiz birimleri çerçevesinde genel durum ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.
The aim of this research is to try to reveal the general situation and trend in this field by performing a bibliometric analysis of scientific studies on the project-based learning method in the field of education. In this context, the research was carried out according to the document review method, one of the qualitative research methods, due to the nature of the data obtained. The data obtained in the research were analyzed with descriptive and bibliometric analysis methods. Within the scope of the research, the key concept of "Project-based learning" was scanned in the title by accessing the WoS database. In this context, it was seen that there were a total of 998 scientific studies containing the relevant key concept in the field of education in the survey carried out on 09.06.2022. Accessed findings were first analyzed in terms of descriptive features in the WoS database. Then, the obtained data were recorded and analyzed according to author, institution and country in terms of citation numbers, co-citation, co-authorship, co-existence, bibliographic matching analysis types, which are expressed as bibliographic features with the help of VOSviewer program. Accordingly, it was seen that most of the scientific studies were published in 2017 and the majority of the publications were in English and Spanish. It has been concluded that publications from the USA and Spain are in the majority, the most productive authors in the field are Krajcik and Lou, and the journal with the highest number of citations is "Educational Psychologist". As a result, the general trend of scientific studies on the project-based learning method in the field of education was analyzed and the general situation was tried to be revealed within the framework of analysis units.
