The textile and costume industry is one of the locomotive industries for many developing countries. But the intense competitive environment in the international market forces countries to produce high added value products and make these products visible in the international arena. One of the strategies developed for this purpose is to produce high-value fashion products by improving the textile and costume industry in terms of quality. Thus, the countries aim to increase their exports on the one hand, and on the other hand to show the country’s creative and innovative power to the world. The core of the said strategy lies in building a national fashion identity through coherent applications within the framework of a national textile and fashion plan. From the 1990s to the present day, countries such as Italy, the United States and Britain, which have challenged the dominance of French fashion after World War II, have applied similar strategy with different tactics. The aim of this study is to show the importance of the concept by studying the national fashion concept in the original structures of the French, Italian, British and American fashion systems, which is within the intersection of culture and industry.
