Bu çalışmanın amacı, PISA 2018 Türkiye örnekleminden hareketle, öğrencilerin kültürlerarası iletişim algısını en iyi açıklayan ölçüm modelini tespit etmek ve bu modelin cinsiyet grupları arasında ölçme değişmezliğini sağlama düzeyinin incelenmesidir. Araştırma verilerinin analizi için örtük yapı modelleri çatısı altında yer alan örtük sınıf analizi ve çok gruplu örtük sınıf analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın analizleri, PISA 2018 Türkiye örneklemini oluşturan 3381 kız öğrenci ve 3471 erkek öğrenci olmak üzere 6851 öğrenci verisi üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Örtük sınıf analizi sonucunda, Türkiye örnekleminde yer alan öğrencilerin kültürlerarası iletişim algısının en iyi üç sınıflı ölçüm modeli ile açıklanabildiği belirlenmiştir. Örtük sınıflarda yer alan katılımcı gruplarının koşullu yanıt olasılıkları dikkate alınarak örtük sınıflar açıklanmıştır. Öğrencilerin %62’si birinci, %26’sı ikinci ve %12’si üçüncü örtük sınıfta bulunmaktadır. Örtük sınıf analizi sonucunda, yapısı ortaya çıkarılan üç sınıflı ölçüm modelinin cinsiyet grupları açısından ölçme değişmezliğini ne düzeyde sağladığının belirlenmesi amacıyla çok gruplu örtük sınıf analizi yapılmıştır. Çok gruplu örtük sınıf analizi sonucunda üç sınıflı ölçüm modelinin cinsiyet grupları arasında ölçme değişmezliğini kısmi homojen model düzeyinde sağladığı tespit edilmiştir. Çok gruplu örtük sınıf analizinde kısmi homojen model ile temsil edilen ölçme değişmezliği düzeyi, çok gruplu doğrulayıcı faktör analizindeki zayıf ölçme değişmezliği modeline denk kabul edilir. Analizler sonucunda, araştırma kapsamında yapısı ortaya çıkarılan kültürlerarası iletişim algısının en iyi üç örtük sınıflı ölçüm modeli ile temsil edildiği ve cinsiyet grupları arasında ölçme değişmezliğini kısmi homojen model düzeyinde sağladığı tespit edilmiştir.
The aim of this study is to determine the measurement model that best explains students' perception of intercultural communication based on the PISA 2018 Türkiye sample and to examine the level of measurement invariance of this model between gender groups. For the research data analysis, latent class analysis and multi-group latent class analysis techniques, which latent structure models encompass, were used. The analysis of the research was carried out on the data of 6851 students, including 3381 female students and 3471 male students, who constitute the PISA 2018 Türkiye sample. As a result of the latent class analysis, it was determined that the three latent class measurement model can best describe the intercultural communication perception of the students in the Turkish sample. The latent classes were explained by considering the conditional response possibilities of the participant groups in the latent classes. 62% of the students were in the first, 26% in the second, and 12% in the third latent class. As a result of the latent class analysis, a multi-group latent class analysis was carried out in order to determine to what extent the three latent class measurement model, whose structure was revealed, provides measurement invariance in terms of gender groups. As a result of multi-group latent class analysis, it was determined that the three latent class measurement models provided measurement invariance between gender groups at the homogeneous model level. The level of measurement invariance represented by the partial homogeneous model in the multi-group latent class analysis is considered equivalent to the weak invariance model in multi-group confirmatory factor analysis. As a result of the analyzes, it was determined that the perception of intercultural communication, the structure of which was revealed within the scope of the research, was best represented by the three-class measurement model, and it provided the measurement invariance between gender groups at the partial homogeneous model level.
