Abstract:

In this study, the long-term (1930-2020) data of Erzincan was based on the 90 year climate development of Erzincan Ovası and its nearby surroundings, and the overall climate characteristics were determined by the assessment of the climate elements. The trend analysis is also done using the Mann-Kendall and Sen method using the annual average temperature and rain values. Erzincan, in Turkey and in the Eastern Anadolu Region, has different characteristics of climate in terms of its environment. With the influence of the orographic and care factor in Erzincan, local climate conditions are experienced according to its surroundings. For many years, the average annual temperature in Erzincan is 10.9 °C, the average annual rainfall is 367.2 mm. The lowest temperatures in some years - 5.9oC in January, the highest temperature is measured in July with 31.6oC. The average solar day per year is 105.4 and the cloudy day is around 197.9. For many years, the average annual pressure in Erzincan has been recorded at 878.1 mb and the dominant wind direction is ESE with the number of 46052 swings. In Erzincan, where the water is drowned, the soil is often dry and therefore the plant cover is made up of step formations. With these features taken into account, it is seen that the ground climate conditions in Erzincan occur. According to the results of Mann-Kendall and Sen analysis, a trend of increase in temperature values on a long scale has been seen, a trend of decrease in rain values.
