Abstract:

It is extremely important to provide early support to children between the first years of life, to introduce them early to a rich stimulating environment, and to educate the parents who are the first educators in this period.  This period of time is a critical period in which children at risk can be interfered in the developmental society and can have a positive impact on their development. It is known that parents and children’s interaction programs are very useful especially for children and parents with socio-cultural disadvantages. In these environments, parents can share their concerns with other parents, and communicate with each other by asking questions. A variety of early intervention programs are created in order to support socially-cultural disadvantaged mothers and their children of zero-three years of age in early age. This report aims to share an example of the application of the Mother Child Interaction Programme prepared for socially-cultural disadvantaged mothers and their children of zero-three years of age. The effective results for the child and parents are achieved, the mother-child interaction program is expected to be spread in our country.
