İkinci Dünya Savaşı sonrasında ortaya çıkan ve genellikle Soğuk Savaş olarak adlandırılan iki kutuplu tarihsel sürecin ilk sıcak çatışması, 1950 yılının Haziran ayında başlayan Kore Savaşı sırasında gerçekleşmiştir. Kuzey ve Güney Kore orduları arasında gerçekleşen bu savaş, asıl olarak Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nin öncülük ettiği Batı bloğu ile Sovyet Sosyalist Cumhuriyetler Birliği’nin liderliğindeki Doğu bloğunun Uzak Doğu topraklarında etkin olma mücadelesine dönüşmüştür. Türkiye de, Demokrat Parti iktidarıyla iyice açığa çıkan “hür dünya”nın yanında olma iradesinin bir sonucu olarak, ABD ve diğer ülkelerle birlikte, 1952 yılının Ekim ayından itibaren mütarekenin imzalandığı 27 Temmuz 1953 tarihine kadar Kore Savaşı'nda mücadele etmiştir. Bu çalışmada Kore Savaşı ve Türk ordusunun savaşa katılışı ile ilgili bilgiler verildikten sonra, ABD ve Türk ordusuna ait askeri gazeteler vasıtasıyla Türk ordusunun cephe ve cephe gerisindeki faaliyetleri incelenmiştir. Ağırlıklı olarak Birleşmiş Milletler ordusuna mensup askerlerin, Türk askerleri hakkındaki görüşlerine yer verilen bu çalışmanın Kore Savaşı tarihi literatürüne katkı yapması beklenmektedir.
The first hot conflict of the bipolar historical process, which emerged after the Second World War and is generally called the Cold War, took place during the Korean War, which started in June, 1950. This war, which took place between the armies of North and South Korea, turned into a struggle for effectiveness in the Far East territories of the Western bloc led by the United States of America and the Eastern bloc led by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. As a result of its will to be on the side of the "free world", which became more evident with the Democratic Party government, Turkey, together with the USA and other countries, fought in the Korean War from October 1952 until the signing of the armistice on 27 July, 1953. In this study, after giving information about the Korean War and the participation of the Turkish army in the war, the activities of the Turkish army at the front and behind the front were examined through the military newspapers of the US and Turkish army. This study, which mainly includes the views of the soldiers of the United Nations army on Turkish soldiers, is expected to contribute to the literature on the history of the Korean War.
