Purpose: During exercise, the effect of the body mass index (VKI) on arterial blood pressure is assessed in patients under an effort test. Method: 168 patients with normal myocardial perfusion syntigraphy were taken to this retrospective study. Patients were divided into 3 groups according to VKIs; 18,5-24,9 (normal, group 1), 25-29,9 (preobes, group 2), 30-39 ( obesity, group 3). In the 1st, 3rd and 6th minutes of the exercise stress test the systolic (SKB) and diastolic blood pressure (DKB) values were measured. Clinical characteristics and anthropometric measurements were recorded. Results: The total group’s both SKB and DKB values showed a significant increase along with exercise (p < 0,01). With the average SKB and DKB values in the first, third and six minutes, the difference was significant in three groups (p < 0001) except for the DKB values in the sixth minute. In the third minute 1. The percent of systolic and diastolic blood pressure change per minute was not statistically meaningful (p=0.454 and p=0.196). According to the beginning, the average percentage of SKB increase in the 6th minute was not different (p=0.109). The result: Obesity and blood pressure increases during exercise do not differ, it suggests that obesity does not interfere with the physiological response to exercise.
