Bu araştırmada Kanada’nın Saskatchewan eyaletinin sanat eğitimi ve görsel sanatlar eğitimi okulöncesinden ortaöğretim düzeyine kadar incelenmiştir. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden belgesel tarama yönteminin kullanıldığı bu araştırmada konuya ilişkin kaynaklar taranmış ve ilgili eğitim programları incelenmiştir. Saskatchewan ders programlarında sanat eğitimi zorunludur. K-12 olarak adlandırılan Saskatchewan eyaletinin sanat eğitimi programında sanat eğitimi; dans, drama, müzik ve görsel sanatlar alanları kapsamında öğretilmektedir. Sanat eğitimi sadece yetenekli öğrenciler için değil, tüm öğrencilere yaratıcı, eleştirel düşünme ve problem çözme becerileri kazandıracak şekilde yapılandırılmıştır. Saskatchewan’da anaokulundan 12. sınıfa kadar kültürel-tarihsel, eleştiren-yanıt veren, yaratıcı-üretken olmak üzere sanat eğitiminin üç ayrı hedefi bulunmaktadır. Programda öğrenme çıktıları bu hedefler kapsamında yer almaktadır. Öğrenci başarısının değerlendirilmesi yine bu hedeflere yönelik öğrenme çıktılarına dayandırılmaktadır ve öğrenme süreci boyunca öğrenci odaklı olarak gerçekleşmektedir. K-12 Sanat Eğitimi Programının okulöncesi eğitim programı, öğrenme alanları çerçevesinde erken öğrenme ilkeleri üzerine kurulu olarak, çocukların oyun aracılığıyla öğrenmelerini destekleyen ve her çocuğun gelişim düzeyini ve bireysel farklılığını dikkate alarak bütünsel öğrenmeyi teşvik eden bir yapıdadır. Görsel sanatlar dersi kapsamında, okulöncesi çocukların dünya hakkında kendi gözlemlerini ve fikirlerini ifade eden sanat eserleri yaratmaları hedeflenmektedir. Öğrenciler 1. sınıftan 9. sınıfa kadar; görsel sanatlar alanına ilişkin malzeme ve tekniklerle, toplum, çevre, kimlik, sosyal sorunlar gibi kavramlar üzerine kendi fikirlerini ifade eden sanat eserleri üretmektedirler. Ortaöğretim düzeyinde Görsel Sanatlar (10, 20, 30) programı; öğrencilerin İlk Milletler ve Métis halkının bakış açıları da dâhil olmak üzere çeşitli dünya görüşlerini keşfetmelerini sağlamakta ve bireysel sanat stillerinin oluşmasına destek olmaktadır.
In this study, the art education and visual arts education in the Saskatchewan state of Canada were studied from pre-school to secondary level. In this study, the method of documentary scan from the quality research methods has been scanned the resources related to the subject and the relevant training programs have been studied. Art education in Saskatchewan curriculum is mandatory. The Saskatchewan state’s art education program, called K-12, teaches art education in the fields of dance, drama, music and visual arts. The art education is structured not only for talented students, but to provide all students with creative, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 12 in Saskatchewan. There are three distinct objectives of art education: cultural-historical, critical-responsive, creative-productive. The learning outcomes in the program are within the scope of these goals. The evaluation of student success is again based on learning outcomes aimed at these goals and is conducted student-oriented throughout the learning process. The Pre-School Training Program of the K-12 Art Education Program is based on early learning principles within the framework of learning areas, in a structure that supports children to learn through the game and promotes comprehensive learning taking into account each child’s level of development and individual differences. In the framework of the visual arts course, the aim of the pre-school children is to create artworks that express their own observations and ideas about the world. Students from class 1 to class 9 produce art works that express their ideas on concepts such as society, environment, identity, social issues, with materials and techniques related to the field of visual arts. The Visual Arts (10, 20, 30) program at the high school level enables students to explore a variety of world views, including the Perspectives of the First Nations and the Metis people, and supports the formation of individual art styles.
