Abstract:

This study aims to study the disturbing relationships between the social media addiction of university students and the fear of misleading developments in social environments and the meaning of life. Relational scan model was used in the research. The study group was selected by a simple random sampling method from university students. The study included 564 girls and 167 men, with a total of 733 university students. The data of the study was collected using the Social Media Addiction Scale-Adult Form, the Social Environment Development Scale of Fear, the Meaning of Life Scale and the Personal Information Form. The research has used independent sampling t test, One-Way Anova, Pearson Moments Collapse Correlation Technique and multi-linear regression analysis. According to the findings of the study, there was no significant difference between social media addiction and gender variation of university students. On the other hand, the social media addiction of university students and the parent-parent cohesion, the state of influence of social media use on the sleep system, the purposes of social media use, the average daily social media use time in the week, the average daily social media use time in the weekend have been significantly different according to the variants. The meaningful and medium-level positive relationship between social media addiction and the fear of misconduct in social media and the fear of misconduct in social environments, the meaningful and low-level negative relationship between social media addiction and the meaning of life, the fear of misconduct in social environments and the meaning of life, and the meaningful and low-level negative relationship between social media addiction and the meaning of life. Fear of misleading developments in social environments and the meaning of life treat social media addiction by 23%.
