Amaç: Bu çalışmada kırsal alanda geleneksel gıda üreten kadınların örgütlenme yaklaşımları Trakya Bölgesi örneğinde araştırılmıştır. Yöntemler ve Sonuçlar: Çalışmada, Trakya Bölgesi (Edirne, Kırklareli, Tekirdağ) illerinin köylerinde yaşayan 323 kadın ile anket yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda kadınların eğitim düzeyinin düşüklüğü (%91,2’si ilköğretim düzeyinde) dikkat çekmekte olup, çiftçiliği bir meslek olarak (%85,4’ü) kabul etmemektedirler. Çoğunluğu (%83’3’ü) köyde sürekli yaşamakta, arazi miktarları ve gelir düzeyleri düşük kalmaktadır. Kadınlar kırsal alanda daha çok aile işgücü olarak katkı sağlamakta ve geleneksel gıda üretimini aileden gelen alışkanlıkla yapmaktadırlar. Genel Yorum: Kırsalda yaşayan kadınların asıl geçim kaynağı çoğunlukla geleneksel gıda üretimi değildir. Bununla birlikte kadınlar işbirliğine yatkın olup, kırsal alandaki örgütleri tanımakta ancak üyelik/ortaklık düzeyleri düşük olarak gerçekleşmektedir. Araştırma sonucunda kadınlar geleneksel gıda üretiminden gelir elde etmek ve bu konuda kurulacak örgütlere katılıp aktif olmak istemektedirler. Çalışmanın Önemi ve Etkisi: Çalışma, kadınların Trakya Bölgesinde kırsal kesimdeki rolünü vurgulamaktadır. Kadınların geleneksel gıdaların ekonomiye kazandırılmasındaki önemi örgütlenme olanakları belirlenmiştir.
Purpose: This study has studied the organizational approaches of women producing traditional food in rural areas in the example of the Trakya Region. Methods and Results: In the study, 323 women living in the villages of the provinces of Trakya (Edirne, Kırklareli, Tekirdağ) were surveyed. The study found that women have a low level of education (91.2 percent in primary education) and that they do not accept agriculture as a profession (85.4 percent). The majority (83%) live in the village continuously, with land amounts and income levels remaining low. Women contribute more as a family labour in rural areas and make traditional food production with the habit of the family. The main resource of living women in rural areas is mostly not the traditional food production. However, women are inclined to cooperate and recognize the organizations in rural areas, but the membership/partnership levels are low. According to the research, women want to get income from traditional food production and join and actively participate in the organizations that will be established on this issue. The importance and impact of the study: The study emphasizes the role of women in the rural sector in the Trakya region. The importance of women’s traditional food supply to the economy has been determined by organizational possibilities.

Methods and Results: In the study, 323 women living in villages of Thrace Region (Edirne, Kırklareli, Tekirdağ) were surveyed. As a result of the research, the low level of education of the women (91,2% in the primary education level) attracts attention and they do not accept farming as a profession (85,4%). The majority (83.3%) live in the village permanently, and the land amounts and income levels are low. Women contribute more to the rural workforce as a family labor force and make traditional food production with the habit of coming from the family. General Comment: The main source of livelihood for women living in rural areas is not traditional food production. In fact, women tend to cooperate and recognize the rural organizations, but the level of membership / partnership is low. As a result of the research, women want to earn income from traditional food production and to be active in participating in organizations to be established in this respect. Importance and Effect of the Study: The study, emphasizes the role of women in rural in Thrace Region. The importance of women in contributing traditional foods to economy and the possibilities of co-operation were determined.
