Selâhaddîn Eyyûbînin Nûreddîn Mahmûd Zengînin ölümünden sonra Haçlı Krallığına düzenlediği ilk büyük seferinde gerçekleşen Remle Savaşı, onun Haçlılar karşısındaki ilk ve önemli yenilgisidir. Kaynaklara göre kendine fazla güvenen Selâhaddîn, Haçlılara karşı tedbiri elden bırakarak askerlerinin yağma için Haçlı topraklarında çok fazla dağılmalarına müsaade etmiştir. Böylece topraklarını ve insanlarını koruma telaşına düşen Kudüs Kralı IV. Baudouinin ani baskını neticesinde bozguna uğrayan Müslümanlar, açlık, susuzluk, kötü hava şartları ve bedevîlerin saldırıları nedeniyle zorlukla Mısıra dönmeyi başarmıştır. Bu çalışmada, Selâhaddîn Eyyûbînin Remledeki yenilgisi ve bunun altında yatan etmenler incelenmiştir.
