The physical appearance and weight overweight make adolescence a critical stage for the onset of body image disorders and feeding behavior. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the influence of body image on feeding behavior in female adolescents enrolled in a private school in the city of Itajaí-SC. It consisted of a descriptive cross-sectional study, based on the anthropometric evaluation (weight and height) to classify the nutritional status, as well as the application of two body image questionnaires (Body Shape Questionnaire and Kakeshita silhouette scale), the Eating Attitudes Test-26 (EAT-26). The study population consisted of 62 adolescents, enrolled from the 1st to the 3rd year of high school. When evaluating nutritional status, 82.7% of the adolescents were eutrophic, but they showed greater dissatisfaction with body image, according to the BSQ questionnaire (27.3%) and the Kakeshita scale (69.1%). Regarding EAT-26, it was inferred that overweight girls had more attitudes indicative of feeding behavior. Also, when evaluating the association between the BMI and the results of the EAT questionnaire, a significant trend was observed between the classification of eutrophy (p<0.064). In this way, it was observed that there was no significant association between body image and feeding behavior, however, it was pointed out that adolescents with eutrophy had higher image dissatisfaction, while those with overweight showed a more dysfunctional feeding behavior, making it necessary to implement of strategies in the school environment, aiming at self-acceptance awareness.
