Abstract:

The political crisis between Ukraine and Russia, known as the Ukrainian crisis, and Russia's annexation of Crimea as a result of this political crisis is much more economically and politically than a country's occupation and annexation of a peninsula. For this reason, the political and economic impacts of the annals have been prepared in order to reveal why Crimea annexation is so important for the countries of the region, Ukraine, the European Union, the United States and Turkey Evaluated in various perspectives by examining the studies. In this context, it is possible to say that the seeds of Russia's annexation of Crimea started with the expansionist policy of the European Union. Russia, which wants to increase its efficiency in the region after the collapse of the Soviet Union, has been very uncomfortable with the expansionist policy of the European Union and the interest of the countries in the region towards the European Union. The rapprochement of the European Union with Ukraine, which has a great significanced for Russia both strategically and historically and culturally, has been caused Russia to take action and to increase its pressure on Ukraine. This pressure caused conflicts and internal turmoil among the supporters of Russia and the supporters of the European Union in Ukraine, as a result, pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych left his country and sought refuge in Russia. Russia's annexation of Crimea has attracted a great impact in the world public opinion, the European Union and the United States have implemented a number of sanctions against Russia, a regional problem has become a global problem at a time. Turkey has also criticized Russia's annexation of the Crimea because of historical ties with the Crimea. Turkey, after the annexation of the Crimea, has not recognized the annexation and showed an attitude since Ukraine's integrity. However, despite all sanctions and criticism, Russia has not compromised its decision and has demonstrated a solid stance. The fact that the member states of the European Union are dependent on Russia in terms of energy has been effective in exhibiting this stance. Consequently, the European Union's sanctions against Russia have been ineffective, Russia's Crimean annexation has resulted in the connection of the Crimean peninsula to Russia.
