The purpose of this study is to evaluate the improvement of the service quality standards of state hospitals in Kayseri. The hospital supervision results of 2007 3rd period and 2009 2nd period of Kayseri municipality health management quality coordination unit were studied. The results of 2007 and 2009 results of 8 state hospitals which service quality standards evaluation was done were evaluated. Data has been evaluated with SPSS 17.0 program using a computer. In the statistical analysis, McNemar test was used to evaluate cathegorized multiple correlations. The value of X is accepted as meaningfull with P < 0,05. It is observed that there has been a development in the hospitals in Kayseri about service quality standards in 2009 compared to 2007. Fastest improvement were observed in polyclinics, operating room, clinics, emergency services, patient and staff safety applications, facility management and safe facilities. There was no important change observed in hospital information systems and filing status, infection control and sterilization, imaging services, laboratory services. A deterioration of the status about institutional management has been observed. It is observed that hospitals in Kayseri are trying to improve their service quality standards but they do not show enough effort on this subject. It will be appropriate to train the hospital staff about patient and staff safety and the administrators to actively act with quality teams about planning, regulating and procurements of hospitals . the quality teams of the hospitals by being researcher and self renovative it will lead to sample applications
