Abstract:

The research was carried out within the borders of the Inegöl district connected to the Bursa province located in the Marmara region. Inegöl district has a high potential for the raw materials, market, labor and transport facilities and furniture industry. In the research, the historic development of the furniture industry in the Inegöl district, the current state, distribution and structural characteristics have been addressed. In the Inegöl district, forest products that have been carried out from the past to the present day have formed the foundation of the furniture industry. The area is one of the most important furniture industry locations in our country and 88.5% of the industrial enterprises located in the district operate in the furniture industry. The furniture industry, according to 2018 data, accounts for 42% of the district exports and 17% of the country’s furniture exports alone. The proximity of the site to the raw materials and market areas, the position on important transport routes are the most important factors that influence the development of the furniture industry. The survey was carried out on 50 furniture industry enterprises with the power to represent the universe of the study in October 2018 and November 2019. Applicated surveys were analyzed in the SPSS 17.0 program using the visual statistical technique and the necessary interpretations were made in the framework of the analysis results.
