Abstract:

Symbolic interaction indicates the role of the family in the socialization of the child and the process of seeking harmony with the child’s surroundings. According to Mead, the founder of Symbolic Interaction, people develop a meaning system consisting of symbols to represent the world. Therefore, as one of the social institutions where face-to-face interaction is the most intense, the child is also the first institution in the process of socialization to teach the world and the society in which it is lived, shortly, social symbols. The family and communication symbols learned within the family ensure the child’s healthy participation in society. In the process of self formation, when the role models acquired from the social environment such as family and society are not properly learned, the child’s self-perception will also be low. Therefore, family and child counselors assigned to the family and the child are the practices created for the proper establishment of a healthy family and household order in the child's self, which needs to be protected by policies such as children's houses and protective family systems that make the feel of the family environment for the protected children. The social harmony of children in need of protection will also bring them to the right and healthy self-perception and to participate in society as healthy individuals. Therefore, the implementation of children’s protection policies based on the protection of the family is very important for children in need of protection. It is also a policy that will strengthen the child protection system by enhancing the psychological support processes of children at risk of entering disadvantaged groups and the spread of therapeutic approaches throughout the country and the availability.
