Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the status of the planed behavior theory widely used in the description of human behavior in the international tourism literature through the document study method in the framework of the visual analysis. For this purpose, the Web of Science database has been selected as a research field. On the relevant database, in the 1970-2018 date range, 176 articles are the sample of the research achieved by searching the words "Theory of Planned Behavior" and "Tourism". The data was analyzed with the help of the Citespace II bibliometric analysis program. Research findings show that the United States, China, Australia and South Korea are the most productive countries in this field and that the Sejong University as an institution ranked first with 7 publications. The author who publishes the most is Han, the author who publishes the most common reference is Ajzen. The article was published in the Tourism Management magazine. After the keywords of Planned Behavior and Planned Behavior theory, the most popular words are: model, attitude, tourism and intention.
