Kuzey Kıbrıs’ta hızlı şehirleşme, apartman hayatına geçiş, güvenlik sorunu gibi çeşitli sebeplerle çocukların oyun alanı sınırlanmıştır. Çocukların sokaktan çekilmesiyle geleneksel çocuk oyunlarının oynanma sıklığı giderek azalmaya başlamıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı geleneksel Kıbrıs Türk çocuk oyunlarının çocuğun ruhsal ve fiziksel gelişimindeki işlevlerine dikkat çekerek oyunların korunması ve aktarılmasına yönelik çözüm önerileri getirmektir. Bulgular gözlem ve görüşme yöntemi kullanılarak ve yazılı materyaller taranarak elde edilmiştir. Çalışmada, Kıbrıs Türk kültüründeki geleneksel çocuk oyunlarının günümüzdeki durumu değerlendirilmiş, oyunlar oyuncaklı ve oyuncaksız olmalarına, tekerlemeli olup olmamalarına göre tasnif edilmiş, işlevleri açısından değerlendirilerek bağlamlarıyla birlikte tanıtılmıştır. Oyunlar çocukların eğlenme, kendini gerçekleştirme, rahatlama, vakit geçirme, hayal gücünü geliştirme, bedensel hareket gibi birçok ihtiyacını gideren işlevlere sahiptir. Oyunlar ayrıca çocukların gündelik yaşamı deneyimlemesinde bir toplumsallaşma aracı olup, anne, baba, doktor, öğretmen, komşu, yönetici gibi çeşitli rollerle yetişkin yaşamını taklit ettikleri, psikolojik içeriğiyle bir ifade kanalıdır. Çalışmanın sonuç kısmında çocukların birçok ihtiyacını karşılayan bu geleneksel halk kültürü ürünlerinin günümüzde de işlevlerinin sürdürülebilirliği noktasında bazı çözüm önerileri ortaya konulmuştur.
In Northern Cyprus, children's playground is limited for various reasons, such as rapid urbanization, transition to the apartment life, security issues. As children are pulled out of the street, the frequency of playing traditional children’s games has begun to decrease. The aim of this study is to bring solutions for the protection and transmission of games by paying attention to the functions of traditional Cyprus Turkish children's games in the mental and physical development of the child. The findings were obtained using the observation and interview method and scanning written materials. In the study, the current state of the traditional children's games in the Cyprus Turkish culture was evaluated, the games were classified according to whether they are toys and without toys, rolled or not, evaluated in terms of their functions and presented with their contexts. Games have many functions that meet the needs of children, such as fun, self-realizing, relaxing, spending time, developing imagination, physical movement. Games are also a means of socialization in the experiences of children’s daily life, and a channel of expression with psychological content, in which they imitate adult life with various roles such as mother, father, doctor, teacher, neighbor, manager. The resulting part of the study has presented some solutions for the sustainability of these traditional public culture products that meet the many needs of children today.
Northern Cyprus has limited children's playgrounds due to various reasons such as rapid urbanization, transition to apartment life, and security problems. With the withdrawal of children from the street, the frequency of playing traditional children's games has gradually decreased. The aim of this study is to draw attention to the functions of traditional Turkish Cypriot children's games in the spiritual and physical development of the child and to propose solutions for the protection and transfer of the games. Findings were obtained by observing and interviewing methods and by scanning written materials. In this study, the current state of traditional children's games in the Turkish Cypriot culture was evaluated, and the games were classified according to whether they were with or without toys, whether they were rhymes or not, and were evaluated in terms of their functions and introduced with their context.. Plays has functions that fulfil many needs of children such as having fun, self-realization, relaxation, spending time, developing imagination, physical movement. Indeed, plays are a means of socialization for children to experience daily life and are a channel of expression with psychological content in which they imitate adult life with various roles such as mother, father, doctor, teacher, neighbor, and administrator. In the conclusion part of the study, some solution recommendations for the sustainability of the functions of these traditional folk culture products that meet many needs of children are presented.
